So I need to rant somewhere, and I've decided this is the best place to do it.

I went to Bristol Farms today to get some shopping done- mostly because I'm nearly out of meat. Still have lots of bread and veggies, but no meat. So I'm strollin' through the freezer aisle, and I reach the end and go... wait what? They didn't have and frozen meat- not even hamburger patties. In fact the only place you can get meat is in their little fact deli section from the guy behind the counter. And the type of meat i wanted-boneless chicken and ground beef- was SEVEN DOLLARS A POUND. It's not that I'm anti-guy-behind-the-counter (actually I am but that's another story) but wouldn't you expect a grocery store to have at least some frozen chicken or beef? Hamburger patties? something?
So I didn't buy any, I'll go down to the Vons tomorrow, I'm not paying for something I could get for half the price somewhere else. Do you thing it'd be alright to leave the meat unrefrigerated for twenty-thirty minutes? The Vons is about a mile away, and it's up-hill on the way back. I'd just ask a roomie if I could use their car- but both of them are temporarily with cars.

AND MY INTERNET TRIES TO STOP WORKING EVERY TIME I CLOSE MY COMPUTER!

So I went to see District 9 tonight with my best friend. And then I got sick an hour or so into the movie and we had to leave. Which sucks 'cause I was liking it so far.

And then I get home- and my roomates had some kind of collosal fight while I was out. So now I'm ill and sitting around feeling the awkward silence. Yippee. At least no one's mad at me, but I get the feeling this fight's going to escalate.

And I still have that icky post-throw up feeling in my throat!

I found the Vons today. It totally wasn't a mile away like my roomie said it was... or maybe I just have no concept of how long a mile is. It's probably that second one actually, I've always had problems with distances longer than a yard. Well either way it was not the monster walk I was expecting, and I got Hamburger Helper out of the deal- because for some reason they don't sell Hamburger Helper at Bristol Farms (the closest grocery store.) Pretentious jerks.

So yesterday I went with my roommate to return a backpack she'd bought. (I was bored and I was there when she bought it so I thought I should see her return it too.) So we're walking through the shopping center to the Ross, and my brain is trying to tell me something.

"Wait where did you buy that bag?"

"At Marshall's"

A moment of silence.

"We just walked past Marshall's"

"Yep."

So we turned around and located Marshall's. Then we get to the front of the return line- and we forgot to bring the receipt...

And then we went and got frozen yogurt to drown our woes in.

It's funny now but last night it was just sad.

I was thinking about one of the classes I'm taking right now on the Holocaust. And then through my own bizarre thought process I was thinking about Magneto, the X-Men villian with being a Holocaust survivor as part of his tragic backstory. And I was thinking isn't it kind of ironic that he believes in a mutant master race? With a side order of genocidal tendencies?

What do you think? Were the original creators trying to get all deep and thinky on us? Was it accidental irony? Have I only now noticed something that everyone else already knew?

Fiacre is the patron saint of boxmakers and taxi drivers.
Pastry chefs have three patron saints;Honorius of Amiens, Macarius the Younger, and Phillip the Apostle.
Neot is the patron saint of fish.
Clare of Assisi is the patron of writers for television.

Hello, now that the Christmas present opening has ended I am creating a 'fabulous' showcase of the gifts I got...

First I received some random unimportant (not really, I just don't want to find pictures of all of them.) CDs and Books and one movie called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...

Then I recieved a grand total of sixty dollars in Barnes and Noble giftcards,as well as cards for Jamba Juice andBath and Body Works...

Sadly The Cat in The Hat was not on any of my cards...

Then I got an itty-bitty garden gnome! Woah! Cool!

Then I got this thingie called an iRiver, which looks really neat but I am still working out how exactly you use it...

And then I got some really nifty shoes that are actually much bigger than the iRiver, despite what the pictures look like.

Aren't they pretty?

Then I got this awesome Nightmare Before Christmas lamp from my mom, which is weird because she hates that movie and has never actually seen it...

But... THE MOST AWESOMEST THING EVER was this...

I love it and have already turned my sister into something quieter, a howler monkey.

So this was a pretty good Christmas for me.

Hi peoples! I have returned from the land of grandma's birthday party. It went better than I thought it would, mostly because it turns out that Grandma is the only one who knows who everyone is, I had a nice chat with my cousins about who 'that one lady over there' is. I also made friends with various babies, which is very cool because if they got upset there were seven other people willing to take them away from me.

There was one bad thing though... I'm walking across the hotel parking lot before we went to the party and my ankle decides to stop working and I fell over rather spectacularly. I now have a cell-phone sized scab on my knee that tingles everytime I move it...Excuse me of a minute while I wallow in self-pity...

It’s very dark out. The moon has disappeared from the sky, leaving only the countless star to light the night. They‘re doing an awful job. It’s so dark in fact, that Sirius doesn’t see Remus until he trips over him.

I'm feeling creative today, so here for your reading pleasure is... DUN DUN DUN!!!!!!!!! A FANFICTION! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Run Away! Be Afraid, be very afraid!

One day the Phantom of the Opera was sitting in his underground lair being depressed because he had no friends.

"Sigh," he said, "I am depressed and have no friends..."

Suddenly a small beetle flew over and landed on his arm.

"Hello little beetle," he said, "Will you be my friend?"

The beetle crawled around a bit, then began eating a small crumb it had found on the Phantom's sleeve.

"Hooray!" said the Phantom, "I have a friend! I will name you Kyle and you will be with me forever!"

The idea of having a friend made the Phantom so happy he decided to go play with his dolls. He preformed a brilliant re-enactment of his duel with Raoul in the graveyard, except of course that in the end Raoul got his head cut off, Christine fell back in love with him, and he decided he was too good for her and left her to grow old and become a bitter dried-up prune, and no he wasn't at all bitter that it hadn't actually happened that way.

Kyle was a very good listener, and he seemed quite absorbed by the drama the figurines acted out, and even though his eyes were very small and hard to see the Phantom knew they were fixed on his mini-theatrical masterpiece.

When he was done with his glorious retelling he thought it would be a good idea to tell Kyle how much he appreciated him...

"Oh Kyle!" he said, "you're the best friend ever!" Then he gave Kyle a big hug!

"CRUNCH" went Kyle, "OH NO!!" went the Phantom, "I've killed my best friend!"

The Phantom was so distraught he realized had to write an opera dedicated to Kyle's memory, so he began pounding away on his organ.

Up in the Opera House, Meg Giry was speaking to her mother when hauntingly beautiful organ music began drifting up to them.

"Why Mother!" she said " What is the Phantom composing for?"

"Oh dear," said Madame Giry, "He must have killed another bug."

Can't stay long, I'm going to a party thingie cuz two of my cousins are getting married...Exciting, yes? It'll be fun, even if this is the side of the family that requires me to dress nice and make small talk instead of the side were I can sit around in dirty clothes and listen to people talk without actually engaging in the conversation...

In other news, I got a letter from a college today. The Washington University in St. Louis, the director of admissions wants to send me a checklist of things to look for in the colleges I'm considering and of course the Washington University is one of those... Oh god , I'm old! I remember my sister getting letters like this and i always thought it ment she was a grown-up... I don't WANT to grow up!

Oh well, I still have time to think about this stuff.
